Shutting down the hot water supply feeding an entire maximum security penitentiary can be a risky proposition. At Green Hill detailed planning, advanced and accurate material procurement, and the anticipation of any possible scenario lead to minimal disruption. Underground hot water mains, expansion joints and vaults were replaced. Engineered safety shoring was required at trenches backfilled with a specialized, self-insulating backfill media.
