Prior to smolt rearing season the water supply to an existing fish hatchery needed to be replaced. Clearing of the future easement and demolition of the failing supply line preceded the new lines installation. The new 1500’ waterline would be supplied from a nearby creek, cross beneath a state highway, and gravity flow vital creek water into hatchery ponds and incubation buildings. A 12” durable, nontoxic, fusion welded, polyethylene pipe was chosen for the task. Demolition and patch of existing concrete and asphalt paving allowed access to all existing hatchery facilities. Seeding and surface easement abandonment completed this unique project.
